November 2008

Time has gotten away from me when it comes to blogging, but I am hoping to get back into it again.

1st we are sad to say that our little Ava passed away in September.  We really don't know exactly how old she was but, her little body just couldn't endure some of the problems it was having.  She is a kitty angel now and her sweet personality and her loving ways will never be forgotten.  Danielle was with me when we had to make the decision.  It was very hard on both of us, but there was nothing more we could do for her.

Went up to Crystal Cove in late October.  We enjoyed a beautiful day.  Wanted to find some sea glass, but there was none to be found.  Lil E had fun in the ocean.

More later...

Spring

Well Spring is here, the trees outside my work are in full bloom with little white flowers.
I had to go to the book store to pick up some books on Spring and gardening for my class and Lil E had fun with his big sister as we were leaving.
Greg's company had a big 10 year anniversary down south, so after work on Friday Lil E and I took the train down.  Lil E was sooo.... excited.  He doesn't remember going on the train when he was younger.  It was a nice change for me, because I didn't have to drive.

He was a little nervous when the train was getting ready to start.  I think he thought it might be little like a plane ride.
Towards the end of the train ride his fear subsided and he was standing and looking out the window.

Catching up again...

Lil E getting ready to ride his scooter at the park.  He also missing big sister # 3 and big sister #2 is getting ready to move out, so he will be missing her too.  Hope everyone is safe and okay?!
There are some really beautiful pieces of art work down town San Diego along the Harbor.  This was one of my favorites.  The "Hawk Woman."
When running Lil E and I saw these cool rock formations that a homeless man had created.
Went down to San Diego on Wednesday and met up with my mom and Sarah and her kids after I ran.
Lil E with his bunny ears on ready to go on his hunt.
Lil E counting to make sure he only has 8 eggs from his school egg hunt.  The kids all had a lot of fun.
Poor Gibson had a bad allergy outbreak and his stomach was covered in welts and red.  He is doing a lot better now.
Indian Jones Lego kit.  Found this at the book store when looking for a new book.
Another great movie.  Lil E went with his cousins and we all enjoyed it - very well done too.
Took Lil E to see the movie Spiderwick after we read the whole series to him.  It was a good movie and followed the books pretty well.
Pretty palm tree outside the convention center.  I was kind of disappointed in the Tech convention.  Sessions were not that great and the ones that were popular, one couldn't find a seat and had to sit on the floor or leave.
Back on March 6th I had to go to a conference in Palm Springs.  The view driving into the area was really pretty, especially with the snow on the mountains.  We have always been to the other side of the mountain, but not the desert side.

Life is a Blur at Times

Life can fly past a person and leave them numb at times.  One looks back and wonders what they did on days that past by so quickly. I guess one really needs to stop and enjoy the beauty around them, even if it is for a moment.  Will catch up on all later this week.

Last Week 2/25-3/1

Lil E and Greg went to Legoland on Saturday, while I was taking of other business, going into work and taking Margaux to work and trying to fit in a 10 mile run too.  Anyway Lil E got this really cool mask at the Legoland.

Right at my 1 mile mark left to run, I saw Greg and Lil E in the car and they met me at the end of my run.  So, Greg got a shot of me at the end of my longest run yet.  The smile is the daze that I am in after running; actually not the weather was perfect and the run was good too.
Who could ask for a nicer stretch to run on than the coast in Carlsbad.  Nice cool weather and towards the end of my 10 mile run the sun was coming out.
When everyone else is getting snow or rain we had a beautiful day on Sunday.  Pier in the evening hours.
Margaux with her really cool pot that she made in ceramics class at Mira Costa College.
Lil E getting his hair done early Wednesday morning.  After all that work he didn't want it done the way we did it.

On Monday we stopped by the park after school with Lil E and big sister.  The day was beautiful not to cold.

Working Backwards

I am trying to catch up on things, so I am going to work backwards on what has been happening.  This is a shot of the sunset yesterday, Saturday 2/23/08.  I was scheduled to run 9 miles and I wasn't sure if I could do, but I did!  The surprising part was I felt really good afterwards, not too exhausted.  As I was finishing up my run, I got a visual treat, the sun was setting, so I had to stop and get a picture.
Lil E being silly with a pretend mustache.

The trees at work are being fooled by the weather, and the blossoms are blooming early.
This was an interesting site last Monday.  We were heading back from Irvine and were at a stop light parallel to I-5 and saw this egret right next to us.  It was looking for something to eat.

Something yummy after lunch.  We had this then saw a gelato store and got some gelato too.   Good thing we are running otherwise we would be waddling around.
Lil E went with Greg and got his hair cut last Sunday.  It is kind of short for me, but he looks cute.  Simon was giving him a kiss on the forehead.  They are good buddies.  Simon likes to race everyone up and down the stairs.

Some football was happening last Sunday too, down at Moonlight Beach.  The weather was great last weekend.  Today is all rainy, but it gives one time to catch up on things.

We stopped here to pick up a donut for Lil E.  It was gone in no time.
Last Saturday Greg and I went for a run at a park close by.  We took Lil E in the jogger and afterwards he got to feed the ducks.  He is jumping out of excitement in this picture, because the goose got his bread.
One of the ducks came up and ate right out of Lil E's hand.  He thought it was so cool.

Catching up.  Busy week for family and all.  Just wanted to share this book with everyone.  It is a book that my school librarian had displayed in her window.  It is for kids, reading level 9 years old and up, but I plan on reading it to Lil E.  Adults would love it too.  It is a very quick read because there are a lot of great illustrations that carry the story along.  I highly recommend that you check it out.

Family had an emergency on Wed. eve.  Mom got taken to the hospital because of severe pain in her back.  It turned out that she had a very large kidney stone that was causing the intense pain.  She was admitted early Thurs. morning after I left.  I was able to see her on Thursday and she finally was out of pain, because they had her on some strong meds.  She didn't go into surgery until after 7:00pm.  Thank goodness they took care of it surgically verses seeing if it would pass on its own.  That would have been too painful.  Stopped by Starbucks to pick up a coffee and saw this nice mirror arrangement there.  It looked so cozy especially since it was rainy and cold.
View from hospital.  Weather turned really bad on Valentine's Day.  A lot of snow up in the mountains.
Lil E had a fun day with his friends at school. He made this really cute Valentine card too.
Greg is sleeping still.  He is trying to catch up on all his lost sleep.  Here is a shot of the roses he sent for V-Day.
Buddies taking a sun nap together.  What a funny pair.
